Hailing from Dallas, Texas, SSM offers up dreamy, ambient guitars over what could easily pass for a post rock gem altogether. A couple of songs incorporate the breathy vocals of Michael Gooden, but otherwise post-rock the rest of the way. The beauty of this EP is the quiet intensity that builds in each song, like one approaching a waterfall. At other points, a meandering simplicity flows over the eardrums enticing the listener into the groove of the rhythm. When the stream finally dissipates at the end of this disc, you want to breathe it all in again. An astonishing little disc, this is.
